Barnett Shale Study

Research Gas Study of the Barnett Shale of the Fort Worth Basin

GeoMark has completed an integrated research study of the Barnett Shale of the Fort Worth Basin for the purpose of detecting, measuring and mapping this zone of gas cracking, and determining if the gas cracking has an effect on in situ pore pressure and production rates.  The objective of this program was to a) measure the amount of gas cracking occurring in the deeper portions of the Barnett play, b) establish evidence proving gas cracking is responsible for greater pore pressure and higher producing rates, and if possible to c) quantify the relationship between gas cracking and increased production.
