Wolfcamp – Cline Resource Potential Study

Detailed Analysis of Source Rock, Gas, and Oil Samples, from the Wolfcamp - Cline Formation in the Permian Basin

GeoMark Research is offering a regional assessment of the resource potential of the Wolfcamp and Cline Formations of the Permian Basin. The study will map the source potential for oil, condensate, and gas and will conclude with an estimation of oil and/or gas in place. In its entirety, the study will involve the source rock analysis of over 1,000 samples from over 100 individual wells and the detailed oil analysis of over 150 oil samples that have been sourced by the Wolfcamp Formation.

This project will produce an organic geochemical characterization of the Wolfcamp Formation across the entire basin. The distribution of Wolfcamp-sourced oils has guided the selection of wells for source rock analysis, and the oil data will provide beneficial support for mapping changes in facies, thermal maturity, and overall potential. Maps of present-day organic richness, calculated original richness, quantities of hydrocarbon generated, and estimates of hydrocarbons in place will form the basis of the interpretive report.
