Petrophysics Consulting

Overview

GeoMark petrophysics consulting services apply multiple, scientific approaches to data analytics and interpretation, with an overall emphasis on data integration and client collaboration. Whether you need petrophysical support for real-time operations, data acquisition planning for a single well/multiple wells, or an entire petrophysical evaluation of a basin, we customize consultation engagements according to your project goals and objectives. Our customer-centric methods focus on understanding critical uncertainties, which drive the scope, design, and execution of the consulting program or study, thus, ensuring project success. To effectively assess your unique requirements, we become an active member of your project team, allowing flexibility and insight into changing needs and questions that arise in the iterative process of working together. No project is too big or too small. We offer a full range of capabilities that support you wherever you are in the E&P business life cycle—from Pre-Screening Quick Looks for Client Acreage Assessment and Pursuit and Capture, to Exploration-Exploitation (Appraisal) and Development, as well as Production and Post Production, into Enhanced Recovery phases.

Types of Data

GeoMark approaches the science of petrophysical modeling and data integration from both a conventional and unconventional perspective, designing customized laboratory analysis programs to match your needs and that of your asset. To ensure successful results of each program component, we strive to aid in planning, execution, open communication, and data generation. Through close collaboration, we help you select the types of data to analyze for realization of your project goals, whether offshore or onshore.

Interpretation Services

Data Acquisition & Program Planning

GeoMark petrophysics consulting and interpretation services support subsurface data acquisition in real time, as well as post acquisition field- to basin-scale evaluation studies. Real-time support and acquisition can include open hole, cased hole, and production logging program design; and whole core or rotary sidewall core planning, execution, and laboratory programs. Calibration of petrophysical evaluations via acquired or available measured rock and fluid is preferred for providing constraint. From a developed and calibrated model, the evaluation can then be extrapolated per your needs. Major petrophysical properties evaluated and delivered may include lithology, total porosity, total water saturation, and ultimately, and hydrocarbon in place (additional deliverables are highlighted and can be provided and designed upon request). The diagram below is an example of a Data Acquisition Program Plan.

Getting Started Guidelines

Data Needed

For proprietary projects, GeoMark requests that all relevant data be provided to constrain the evaluation. A minimum of a triple combo (GR-RDEEP-ND) is needed to attempt an evaluation of petrophysical properties. Guidelines are as follows:
⦿
Multi-scale requests may include a single-well, multi-well, or basin-scale interpretation, and are customized according to your requirements.
⦿
Timelines of project scope and completion help drive the process.
⦿
Real-time turnaround (rush or within 24 hours) is provided per client request, unless an advance notice to the client or a natural disaster prevents otherwise.
⦿
Upstream and downstream services are supported: Exploration, Exploitation, Development, Midstream Water Injection, Engineering, and Completions.

Evaluation Packages

Our evaluation packages include, but are not limited to, the following, depending on your dataset and project-specific needs:
⦿
